Use dydt with your AI agent
Ask your AI agent about any Solana token or wallet in plain language and get answers from live dydt data. Setup takes about five minutes and needs no coding. It is read-only: it cannot trade or touch your wallet.
- An AI coding agent
- Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Windsurf, Gemini CLI, Copilot, Cline, or OpenCode. Chat sites such as claude.ai cannot run it.
- Node.js 22.4 or newer
- The free program the dydt command runs on. Step 1 checks for it.
- A dydt API key
- Free to create, no payment needed. It lets your agent read dydt data.
- A terminal
- Terminal on macOS, PowerShell on Windows, or the terminal panel in Cursor or VS Code.
Set up
Paste this message into your agent. It installs everything, then asks for your API key; create one on the API keys page and paste it in. When it shows you the SOL price, you are done.
Set up dydt for me from https://github.com/dydtai/dydt-skills
1. Install the dydt-cli npm package, then install the dydt skills globally for this agent with npx skills add dydtai/dydt-skills -g.
2. Ask me for my dydt API key and save it with dydt config set.
3. Show me the current SOL price from dydt to confirm it works.Or set up step by step
If the agent gets stuck, run each step in your terminal, in order. Here is what each step adds:
- You have thisYour agentClaude Code, Cursor, Codex, and others. Reads your question.
- Step 3dydt skillsTell the agent which dydt command answers which question.
- Steps 2 and 4dydt commandRuns on your computer and holds your API key.
- data.dydt.aidydt APILive token, wallet, and KOL data. Read-only.
Check for Node.js
Run this command to print the version of Node.js on your computer:
node --version
You should see v22.4.0 or higher. If you see an error or a lower version, install the LTS version from nodejs.org, open a new terminal, and run the command again.
Install the dydt command
Your agent uses the dydt command to fetch data.
npm install -g dydt-cli
On macOS or Linux, if you see a permission error, follow npm's guide to fixing permission errors. Do not use sudo.
Add the dydt skills to your agent
Skills are short instruction files that tell your agent which dydt command answers which question. Run the line for your agent, then restart the agent:
# Claude Code npx skills add dydtai/dydt-skills -g -y --agent claude-code # Cursor npx skills add dydtai/dydt-skills -g -y --agent cursor # Codex CLI npx skills add dydtai/dydt-skills -g -y --agent codex # Not sure? Install for every supported agent npx skills add dydtai/dydt-skills -g --all
You should see a list of dydt skills and Done!. Commands for other agents are in the dydt-skills repository.
Connect your API key
On the API keys page, sign in and select New key. The key is shown only once, so copy it right away. Then run:
dydt config set YOUR_API_KEY dydt sol-price
Replace YOUR_API_KEY with your key. It is saved on your computer only. You should see the SOL price, such as {"price_usd": 121.13}.
Try asking
Replace TOKEN_ADDRESS with the token's address: on its dydt.ai page, select the Token chip under its name to copy it. Wallet addresses work the same way.
Research a token
- What are the red flags on
TOKEN_ADDRESS? - Find the real WIF token, not a copycat, and show me its top holders.
- Who created
TOKEN_ADDRESS, and what happened to their other launches?
Follow the market
- What is trending on Solana in the last hour with more than $50k liquidity?
- Which pump.fun tokens are closest to graduating?
- Write me a morning brief of the Solana memecoin market.
Study wallets
- How has
WALLET_ADDRESSdone over the last 30 days? Was it one lucky trade? - What does
WALLET_ADDRESShold right now, and is it up or down? - What are KOLs buying in the last 24 hours? Group it by token.
Plans
Start on Free. If you ask for something your plan does not include, your agent tells you which plan does. Prices and limits are on the pricing page.
- Free
- Token research, holders, creator history, pools, candles, trades, wallet PnL, and discovery feeds, with a small monthly request allowance.
- Starter
- Everything in Free with higher limits, plus live monitoring with
dydt watch. - Pro and Scale
- Everything, including KOL trades, the KOL leaderboard, labeled wallets, wallet signals, and dydt token signals.
Stay safe
- dydt is read-only. It cannot trade, move funds, or touch your wallet, and it never asks for a seed phrase or private key. Anyone who asks for one is trying to steal from you.
- Treat your API key like a password. Keep it out of public chats, screenshots, and shared code. If it leaks, delete it on the API keys page and create a new one.
- Answers report what dydt observed on-chain and when. They are not financial advice. Memecoins are high risk, and a token with no red flags can still go to zero.
- Token names and descriptions are written by whoever launched the token. The dydt command filters hidden instructions out of them, but treat anything odd with suspicion.
Troubleshooting
- command not found: dydt
- The dydt command is not installed, or the terminal was opened before you installed it. Run step 2 again, then open a new terminal.
- command not found: node
- Node.js is not installed. Install the LTS version from nodejs.org, open a new terminal, and start again at step 1.
- Node.js older than 22.4
- Install the current LTS version from nodejs.org.
- No API key
- Run
dydt config set YOUR_API_KEYwith a key from the API keys page. - unknown command after updating
- Version 0.3.0 renamed the commands. Update the skills too with
npx skills add dydtai/dydt-skills -g, then restart the agent. - HTTP 401
- The key is mistyped, revoked, or deleted. Create a new key and save it again.
- HTTP 403 or code 4033
- Your plan does not include that data, such as KOL trades on Free. Your agent tells you which plan does.
- HTTP 429
- Too many requests at once, or the monthly allowance is used up. Wait a minute and ask again, or upgrade.
- The agent answers without dydt
- Restart the agent after installing the skills, and name dydt in your question: "Using dydt, what are the red flags on TOKEN_ADDRESS?"
